How we write and review
Health information should be accurate, balanced, and clear about who wrote it. This page explains how every ProcedurePath guide is made.
Who writes and reviews
Every page is written and reviewed by Varun Danda, MD, an interventional radiology resident physician. Each article shows a “Last reviewed” date.
Pages are not yet reviewed by outside specialists. We plan to add reviewers from gynecology and urology and will name them on each page they review.
Where the facts come from
We rely on society guidelines, systematic reviews, randomized trials, and large published studies. Every number on a page has a numbered citation that links to its source. When the evidence is limited or mixed, we say so.
Balance and conflicts of interest
Interventional radiologists perform uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) and prostate artery embolization (PAE), and the author trains in that specialty. To keep guides balanced, each one covers medicine, watchful waiting, other procedures, and surgery, with the benefits, risks, and limits of each. We do not rank treatments or tell you which one to choose.
ProcedurePath has no advertising, sponsors, or industry funding, and it does not accept referral fees.
How we use AI tools
We use AI writing tools to help draft, edit, and check pages. They are never the source of a medical fact. A physician reviews every page and checks each cited claim against its source before it is published.
Updates and corrections
We re-review pages when guidelines or important studies change and update the “Last reviewed” date. If you spot an error, email privacy@procedurepath.com with the page address and what looks wrong. We fix confirmed errors promptly.
What our guides do not do
- Diagnose you or read your reports.
- Recommend a treatment for you.
- Replace a visit with your own doctor.
- Give emergency advice. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
